During the meetup, I also asked if I can open the box since it had obviously been opened. Please refer to the attached photo where the tape is only on one side of the box.

That's when I saw the yellowing spots on the box. Your post of the toy is tagged as 'Brand New' and you also made it sound like it's really brand new. Please refer to screenshot of your post.

Before buying any vintage toys, I recommend that you do your research. This toy was released nearly a decade ago - when sellers state brand new in box, they are referring to the toy, not the box being brand new. In fact, the term explains itself - Brand New IN BOX. In which universe does boxes not yellow after a certain number of years? If you are out to lowball, just say so. Rather than opening before paying.
